Way ahead of the game

Sean is going in for oral surgery tomorrow. He's having all four of his wisdom teeth removed. They are already in, 5-7 years early, and are having a negative impact on the work of the braces. So they are coming out. He will have general anesthesia. He's aware of what's going to happen, and has done his own bit of "research" online regarding both the procedure and the anesthesia. He says that the thing that worries him the most is the anesthesia. Smart kid. He's had it once before, when he was two, and he did fine. But it's always stressful as a parent to see your child go through something that you know is going to be stressful and painful to them.

Since he won't be eating much in the next few days (and anyone that knows Sean knows that this is a HUGE deal) he gets to choose what we have for dinner and dessert tonight. He's asked me to make fettuccini alfredo and a chocolate cheesecake.

Keep him in your thoughts, please.

Fishing

School time

The boys started school last week. Sean is in 7th grade, and Bren is in 5th. His last year in elementary, and it's a big deal! Erin is officially in her pre-k program, and she loves it even though she already knows most of the material that they will be covering this year (and then some). I started back to school today as well, and I was happy to be back on campus.

Sean will be starting piano lessons this week, and fall baseball starts again for Bren next week. Erin is going to be taking a dance class, but we don't know the start date for that yet. This coming weekend is my cousin Liz's wedding, and I am taking her wedding pictures, so I'm preparing for that. Lots to do in the next few weeks, but we'll all get settled into the new routines.

Erin

I just found this picture on my phone. Bren apparently took it just after Erin arrived home from Wisconsin, and I thought it was a cute picture of her. Little Miss Traveler.

All three of my babies

Sean, Bren and Erin are all home with me now. It feels so good to have them all back under one roof.

Sean got home just before midnight last night, and he had plenty to talk about all of the way home. I know that he misses grandma and grandpa. He told me last night that going to visit them was the best part of his summer vacation, and the best trip he's been on so far.

The boys start school on Monday (5th and 7th grades), and registration for fall baseball is this week, so we have a lot to do over the next few days. Sean and Erin are also starting their piano lessons in a couple of weeks, and they are both excited about that. It's back to routines and schedules!

Bren and Erin

They decided to hang out with me in the office while I was working yesterday, so I took advantage of the sunlight and snagged a few shots of them.

Redwood trees & leaving Oregon

This past Sunday, Sean got to visit California and the redwood trees. He's on his way home now, and will be back in Tampa just before midnight tonight. It seems like he has been gone forever. I'm ready for him to be home, but I know that Grandma, Grandpa, and everyone else back in Grants Pass is going to miss him. He did tell me last night that he is sad to be leaving, too. He has really loved it there with them.
